Alacam Amethyst is a rare, deep purple amethyst from a single mine in the Dursunbey district of Balikesir Province, Turkey, only discovered in 2021. It's prized for its intense grape purple colour and its unusual formation as a pseudomorph after barite, which means the crystals grew in the shape left behind by barite crystals that have since dissolved away, often leaving a distinctive wave like, hill and valley surface, sometimes with a natural hematite staining across the crystal faces.
Like all amethyst, it's good for:
Quieting a busy mind
Easing stress and anxiety
Deepening meditation
Supporting intuition and balance
Encouraging peaceful sleep
Pairs well with: Clear Quartz and Smokey Quartz, both of which complement its deep colour without competing with it.
Every crystal is one of a kind. As a natural formation, your Alacam Amethyst may include unique inclusions, colour variations, or markings. These aren't flaws. They're what make each piece truly one of a kind.
