Tiger's Eye is a golden brown quartz known for its silky, cat's eye band of light, called chatoyancy. It forms as silica gradually replaces fibrous crocidolite (a blue asbestos mineral) within the rock, while preserving its fibrous structure, which is what creates that shimmering band.
