Larvikite is an igneous rock from the Larvik region of Norway, closely related to monzonite, made up mainly of feldspar crystals. Its signature silvery blue flash, known as the schiller effect, comes from light reflecting between layers of two different feldspar minerals grown together within the stone. It's sometimes nicknamed "black moonstone", though it isn't a true moonstone.
Larvikite is good for:
Grounding
Protection
Deep introspection
Connecting with intuition
Quietening a scattered mind
Pairs well with: Labradorite and Smokey Quartz, for a grounded, protective combination.
Every crystal is one of a kind. As a natural formation, your larvikite may include unique inclusions, colour variations, or markings. These aren't flaws. They're what make each piece truly one of a kind.
