Maligano Jasper is a brecciated jasper found only in the remote village of Maligano on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia, first discovered around 2011. It forms in ancient volcanic hot spring areas, where fractured jasper is naturally re-cemented by silica rich water, creating its striking mosaic like patterns of red, orange, grey, and blue, sometimes with delicate branching dendrites running through it.
