Sunstone is a variety of feldspar known for its warm, glittery sparkle, called aventurescence, caused by tiny plate like inclusions of copper or hematite scattered throughout the crystal. It forms within igneous rock, with some of the finest material coming from Oregon in the United States and parts of India, where light reflecting off these inclusions creates its signature golden shimmer.
